Quality suppliers of material handling Equipment, Finedoor Crushing and Screening have recently completed the installation of a new screening station for a primary abrasives’ supplier – Scangrit, based at South Killingholme on the outskirts in Immingham.
Formed in 1975, Scangrit supply top quality abrasives products such as Copper Slag (Iron Silicate), Olivine, SF (Calcium Silicate), Chilled Iron, Steel Grit/Shot, Garnet, Alumina, Vegetable Abrasives and Glass Bead/Grit, predominantly for the blasting industries.
The existing bulk hopper, conveyor, screen, and feed hopper where some 49 years old and required constant maintenance and repairs. Finedoor was commissioned to supply a new bespoke screening station that fit the existing setup’s footprint.
The new screening station was designed to grade and transfer various materials for processing. Part of Scangrit’s specification was the requirement that all main steelwork, hoppers, and chute to be hot dipped Galvanised, to garner the proper protection from the abrasive materials as well as reduce possible sources of contamination.
Following the design approval, manufacture was undertaken and the set up was test run vigorously. Shortly after we received Scangrit’s approval at our Halifax works. The bulk hopper, conveyor, screen support frame and screen were transported to site as built-up units in order to reduce time required on site. The resulting installation greatly reduced Scangrit’s production downtime.
Following the successful installation over a long weekend, Scangrit’s chief executive commented – “From start to finish we were very impressed with the professionalism, design, quality, installation and the finished product speaks for itself, we are more than happy with the end result and would definitely recommend their products and services and wouldn’t hesitate to use their services of future projects”.
Andrew Firth, Finedoor’s new managing director commented,
“This once again cements Finedoor’s presence within the material handling sector. Again, Finedoor’s customer driven focus ensured all those who contributed to this project listened to, and understood, our clients’ requirements from the off. This key step allowed us to implement necessary changes to boost safety and efficiency throughout the design process. Whilst also ensuring the quality of our products remained at its highest level. Attention to detail and going that extra mile when it comes to client satisfaction, is why Finedoor is still successful today.”
